Where To Stay….

I know, I promised to move it to the Florida Keys, unfortunately the Keys wanted me to guarantee rooms – that means if the rooms were empty, I would pay for them.  The conference isn’t big enough yet for me to do this, so we are back in Beautiful Stowe Vermont.

Stoweflake Resort ( http://stoweflake.com )
1746 Mountain Road (Route 108)
Stowe, Vermont 05672
United States

Rooms are held in our system under The World Wide Data Vault Consortium. Please call the Stoweflake Reservations department at 1-800-253-2232 and clarify they are with the World Wide Data Consortium in May and the special discounted rate we contracted will pop up. You will then be asked to provide a credit card for deposit on your room. The sooner you do this the better. Our web designers are working on getting us the ability for groups to book through our website but we do not have the ability as of yet so calling the 800 number provided is necessary.

Attendees will receive a 20% discount on any treatments purchased at our spa and these treatments can be booked either ahead of time over the phone and or in person at the spa. The golf course will be complimentary for conference attendees and your guests.

The location is beautiful, with hiking trails, bicycles, pool, and a spa (at the hotel).  We are just down the road from Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory, and Cold Hollow Apple Cider Mills.

In addition, the resort has a championship 18 hole golf course, and a 9 hole par 3.  It also has tennis courts, a volleyball court, indoor and outdoor heated pools.  Along with a 5 diamond SPA on site, and a world-class work-out facility.   Did I mention the Bicycles are INCLUDED with your room rental?

It is a vacation destination for wedding parties at that time of year, they have limited space!  If you are planning on coming, BOOK YOUR ROOM AS SOON AS YOU CAN!

INTERNATIONAL TRAVELERS: IF you are coming from outside the US – you MUST give yourself 2 hours of time to get through the US CUSTOMS which happens either in Los Angeles, San Fransisco, Chicago, New York, New Jersey, Washington DC, or Philadelphia

Montreal Dorval – Code: YUL
Estimated Driving time: 2 & 1/2 hours south (beware of big city traffic)
You will have to pay EXTRA for Rental Car to drive across international lines, and you will have to cross the border in to the US – which sometimes, the lines can be long (1 hour or more wait time)

Burlington, Vermont – Code: BTV
Estimated driving time: 1 hour south (no traffic to speak of)
This is your BEST BET, you can fly direct from Philadelphia, Chicago, New York, New Jersey, or Washington DC.

Boston, Massachussettes – Code: BOS
Estimated Driving time: 4 & 1/2 hours north.
The roads at this time of year will be dry as we head in to our summer season.  The drive is LONG.  You *might* fight with traffic getting in and out of Boston Airport – especially between the hours of 06:30 am to 9:00 am, and again between 3:30 pm and 6:30 pm.  Rush hour-traffic can be extremely thick.

You are responsible for your own transportation to and from the conference.
It is highly suggested you either carpool or rent your own vehicle for this event.
A taxi will cost you quite a bundle, and the hotel does not offer airport shuttle services.

All Rental Cars at Burlington Airport are ON-SITE, and very easy to get to.

You *could* setup a rental shuttle ride / shared shuttle ride with Shuttle Services or Taxi(Pick one below):

The event will be run for 3 days, with plenty of time for networking. Saturday (last day of event) will have a required dress code: Shorts, Flip-flops or sandals, and Hawaiian (or CRAZY) Shirts, a prize will be awarded to the craziest shirt!
