We’ve added another new session to our upcoming WWDVC conference! We want to welcome Theresa Ayerst to our conference. Here’s a sneak peek at what they are bringing:
IFRS: The Rise of Data Vault
Looking back to the beginning of 2018, our organization’s data architecture looked like a spider web of various operational data stores, MS Access databases, excel spreadsheets, and the beginnings of 2 data warehouses. Business stakeholders spent a good deal of time each month pulling together data from various sources, completing calculations, and ensuring reconciliation across the systems and the General Ledger.
Then came IFRS 17 (International Financial Reporting Standards) where data lineage and auditability were mandatory. To meet the requirements of IFRS, the expectation was that all of our organization’s reporting needs were to be sourced through a data warehouse and all manual data extrapolation decommissioned. The catch: the standards were not solidified, and our two major business partners had different needs.
Throughout the IFRS project, our Data Vault was built up significantly, getting us to a critical mass of data that is now also available for other business use cases and future IFRS 17 needs.
Join us to hear about our Data Vault journey related to a specific regulatory project. We will discuss the challenges we’ve had along the way and how Data Vault helped with incremental development as requirements became available.
