Brian McMillan is a long-time Enterprise Architect focused primarily on Data and Analytics problems within big companies.

My degree is in Economics and not CS and that makes me a “business guy” who has spent the last ~20 years architecting, product managing, people managing, and hands-on building a variety of enterprise data management systems for EDS, HP, Raytheon, and Rain Bird.

In October 2020, I left my job to write a book about building data products for non-programmers: “Building Data Products: Data and Analytics Engineering for non-programmers.” The book explores the business problems behind data work coupled with a detailed view of the nuts and bolts of exploratory data analytics.
